The world was set right by your cake
It is THE best cake in alllllllll of CakeLand!! Seriously, I am eating it RIGHT now!! When the guy delivered the box I could smell the lemony, rasberriness through the cardboard. All my neighbors came out on their stoops, basked in the tantalizing aroma and smiled and waved! The taxi drivers stopped feuding and loved one another, dogs stopped barking and hugged mailmen and children were allowed to play with ice axes again!!
The world was set right by your cake. Thank you. All I can say is…Thank You.

I like your attitude and commitment. And obviously your baking skills
Susan: Thanks for the great e-mail. God, I miss East Coast energy.
Yes, I used to buy your cookies at the Harvest Co-op on South Street in JP. And now I order from your Web site for holiday gifts. At Easter, I sent your chicks and bunnies to an unlikely recipient: an aspiring rap musician in Boston. Rap, chicks and bunnies? Well, a few years ago he revealed another artistic side when he started sketching and painting the cutest ... chicks and bunnies. Go figure.
I’ve tracked the company through the media (good Business Week article!) because I like your attitude and commitment. And obviously your baking skills :>)
One of the nice things about our marketing project with you is that I can picture this sweet storm of peppermint snowflakes landing all across the country.
Thanks again.
Trish Reply: Dear Susan –
Thank you so much for both appreciating us and for conveying it in such a lovely way. I am proud of Dancing Deer. But I am always fascinated when other people get it and show similar passion. I have to pinch myself when I read emails like yours. The chicks and bunnies story is wonderful. And it is also wonderful that you tracked us down and brought us along with you to Portland. We are all really grateful for your enthusiasm and support.
Warm regards,
Trish
Susan Reply: Hello Trish,
Thanks for the kind words.
As far as your business, I do get it. And after a decade+ in marketing and advertising (mainly Fidelity and Staples ...), I should be jaded and one of the hardest types of consumers to convince. But I’m with you all the way. I believe.
Someday, when I’m through with the mid-life crisis that made me sell everything I owned, pack the car and drive cross-country to Portland (sight unseen), I hope to land back in Boston. Closer to the cookie source ... mmmmmmmmm. Well, yeah, and my friends and relatives.
Best,Susan
P.S. Kristen Speed here has been raving about how great Meg is to work with. Being easy to do business with ... as they say, “priceless.”

Quirky and I like it!
Hello Deers,
I wanted to write and say that your recent newsletters have been a bit more quirky and I like it! They seem more fun. For a while I was feeling like the newsletters were simply sales tools and nothing really interesting to read or look at if I didn’t need a chocolate cake or cookies. But your recent little stories and photos of the team feel more like your brand. The photos keep the feeling that the cookies are made by people! Grow big, feel small and personal
Thanks for the always tasty snacks.

An unforgettable moment
My daughter in New York ordered a cake to be delivered to me in Texas, as a surprise, for my 50th birthday. She mistakenly had the cake sent to our main office in another town on a Friday. The person that signed for it forgot to call and let me know I had a package delivered. Monday morning I was on the phone calling the main office wanting to know who had my cake. And the hunt was on! Phone calls were made, employees were questioned, and offices were turned upside down. It was finally found and I called my daughter to let her know “no one had eaten my birthday cake “. I wanted to do something unforgettable for my 50th birthday. When I had the first bite of your delicious chocolate espresso cake I knew that would be an unforgettable moment. Oh, what a DELICIOUS treasure. Now I know what I’ll be asking for from now on for all my birthdays and anniversaries and Mother’s Day and…………………………… Happy Trails.
