So, it’s Day 1 of the Ride and all we’re firing on all cylinders here. Lindsay and I are back at the Deer’s home office making sure things run smoothly (a formidable task!) while Trish is doing the real work on her bicycle. In true Trish fashion, she is not content with just focusing on riding her bike at a brisk 20mph.

Just today only, Trish has Tweeted (follow her on @ChiefDeer), checked her BlackBerry, dictated stories from the road, and called us frequently with ideas. What I found most impressive was her ability to memorize an eight(!) digit pin code to a conference call service so she could leave a 7 minute recording of a story from the Atlanta homeless shelter. Needless to say, us Deers were proud (and just a tad amused) of Trish’s ability to tell a moving story while out of breath and seemingly inches from passing traffic. I’m sure there will be more stories and more feats of heroism over these next 14 days.
