Joining us at the Night of Peace Shelter event last night, we were was lucky enough to meet people from the Hannah More House, a shelter that has 18 rooms and 80 beds for homeless people. This was the first time that multiple shelters came to the same event, adding so much.
Maryland State Delegate, Adrienne A. Jones and her husband, Henry Bell (pictured below) came to show their support for the gingerbread making house event.

Of all the shelters we’ve been to, this is the first time we’ve met a single dad with his child. He was in the construction trades, with previous experience in prep cooking and kitchen work. He is unemployed and looking every day. But with or without work, he has also been struggling with the challenges of taking care of a preschooler on his own. He decided to take Vashawn out of the school he was in because it required him to travel 2.5 -3 hours each day. Vashawn R. Junior is pictured below.

We would like to thank everyone involved for such a wonderful evening.
