As with every great event, there are countless logistics and details. Sitting here on the official first day of the Ride, it’s amazing how many items are on our checklists. Even more amazing, is that we probably don’t have half of them on there. It’s easy to get boggled down by the details and the unforeseen surprises, but then you remember the bigger picture.
Trish and Dancing Deer are doing an amazing thing. Especially in today’s economy, it’s becoming clear that even more people are losing their way and their homes, and need some help. In this Ride, Trish is helping remind us that we need to keep homelessness a top priority.
Knee-deep in details, emails, and phone calls, I think about Trish visiting the shelters. Even in our first day, their stories have moved us. I think about the gingerbread homes, and the smiles we are creating. The details, both big and small, are what get us there. It’s more than worth it.
