Seven Ways to Spot a Deer

Dancing Deer is a company rooted in community. We create community ties by baking delicious treats and designing beautiful gifts that reinforce the connections between people. We protect our community by respecting the environment and the people who live in it. And we give back to the community through the Sweet Home project , where we donate a portion of our proceeds to scholarship programs for homeless mothers.
This season, we want you to join us as we take our commitment to the community a step further by strengthening our online community. We’re opening up all the online channels so we can have a richer conversation with you. That means a revamped Facebook page , a responsive Twitter account and lots of new content on this blog.
To be successful, we need to rein in all our Deers (the members of our community) – and we need you to help us with Deerspotting!
Not sure how to spot a deer? We’ve got a few ideas …
1. They are generous. Deers will pay an extra share of the bill at the restaurant or bring goodies to work every Friday without a second thought. They know that what goes around comes around. Their generosity inspires everyone around them to be more generous, too.
2. They are passionate … their passion shows itself through friendships, attention to small details and in their everyday service to their community.
3. They appreciate the simple things. Deers see comfort in a cold, sunny day. They find beauty and peace in nature. And they know that it is the thought that counts.
4. They are discerning. Deers know what they like. They notice and appreciate small details like the different taste between real and imitation vanilla extract and how gifts are wrapped.
5. They know this is all bigger than they are. Deers are careful to choose companies that do more good than harm. They try to tread lightly on the planet to leave it in good shape for future generations of communities.
6. They give the best advice. Some Deers seem to be able to give advice on everything from how to make icing roses to the best gift to give for every occasion (including Mother-in-Law Day).
7. It takes one to know one. If you’ve made your way to this page, you’re likely one of the Deers. Maybe you’re a generous giver of really thoughtful, out-of-the-ordinary gifts. Or you’re a beacon of light in your community, whether through your formal volunteer activities or through your natural ability to gather people over mugs of tea, glasses of wine or good meals.
If you spot one of the Deers, nominate them here you both might win delicious gifts from Dancing Deer.
