You truly make the best brownies I have ever had! It is like having a little piece of heaven in your mouth!

Wow, I have created my own cookie monster!

My father is a 94 year old retired New York City firefighter. He was a Battalion Chief when he retired. Lately,he has not be interested in eating , so I thought I would tantilize his sweet tooth with a delicious Dancing Deer Brownie & Cookie Medley. Well, the Medley was a big hit and his appetite has returned. I used to send him soup and Dancing Deer cookies, now he states"Forget, the soup only send the Dancing Deer Cookies & Brownies”! So, Dancing Deer you have made a very old man very happy
and begging for more! Wow, I have created my own cookie monster!  Thanks for your delicious, nutritious treats!

We were greatly in need of our most favorite comfort foods.

Today I just picked up a small package of your brownies and lemon cookies at Shaws. This family of four are all sick here at our house and we were greatly in need of our most favorite comfort foods. My 2 year old (such a little guy) has been up for 6 nights in a row with croup and he so needs something to cheer him up and those lemon cookies are doing it right now! Lets hope the little guy sleeps tonight! CC

Comfort Food by Barbara J Rios

COMFORT FOOD

From smallest girlhood,
well into teen years,
now with accelerating age,
cookies have comforted me.

My grandmother’s “receets”—
her only tangible legacy—
made chewy molasses cookies
a family legend.

Any self-respecting nutritionist
recommends a handful of oatmeal cookies
heavily laced with raisins
as a healthful breakfast.

Cookie-baking lessons are
the first for young cooks.
Holiday cookies decorated by small,
eager hands are treasured by all.

All chocolate addicts appreciate
that melting madness called “Toll House.”
At desperate times, some of us will
finish a batch from the bowl, unbaked.

Named “biscuit” by our British mothers,
accompanied by tea,
cookies are the highlight of a civilized day
or ought to be.

Children of careering mothers
will settle for an after-school
welcome—a treasure-hunting dive
into the cookie jar.

I’m still wearing on my small frame
the globular residue
of every comforting cookie
I ever ate.
